COWRA:
The Cowra Japanese Gardens: This is an award winning “must see” attraction with an open air, authentic Tea House, Tatami Room, a Bonsai House and Cultural Centre.
History: Cowra was the location of the largest Prisoner of War breakout and many of the town attractions and monuments lay testimony to this – The Cowra POW camp and guard tower, The Japanese War Cemetery and the Australian World Peace Bell.
Wine Tasting: The Mill from Windowrie Estate located in an old flour mill that was built in 1861 and painstakingly restored.
Other Cellar Doors worth a visit are The Quarry, River Park and Kalari Cellar Door and Gallery
Food: Fine restaurants in the town are Neila (a hatted restaurant) or Oasis.
Age of Fishes Museum in Canowindra is a one-of-a-kind experience.
Trading Post also in Canowindra has many treasures and a coffee shop.
MILLTHORPE:
The town is known as a living museum and recognised by the National Trust. It has award winning restaurants, arts and antiques, museums, boutique shops, wine tasting and fine accommodation.
